Budil Theatre School occupies a unique position in being the only place in the Czech Republic and Slovakia where the Jacques Lecoq method is systematically taught.
It develops the French Jacques Lecoq method as a lively, open and contemporary approach to creativity, movement and thinking and in 2026 the teaching is expanded to include the techniques of the world visual theatre of Philippe Genty.
It was founded in 2007 by Vendulka Burger Budilová, a graduate of the Jacques Lecoq International Theatre School in Paris. She studied there as one of two Czech students while the master Jacques Lecoq himself was still alive.
Since 1995, in addition to her artistic work, she has been intensively involved in the pedagogy of this method - she has taught all over the world and in 2007 she established her activities in the Czech Republic.
