"Thank you very much! Your participation in the festival raised the quality of the event and we appreciate it very much.
It was very nice :-)"

"Creating the scene together was simply great. I never dreamed that something so beautiful could be created in such a short time. It was so beautiful, truly a dream. I am so glad I took part."

"I take away a good feeling from the work done at the training, gaining a completely new experience, not only in my professional but also in my personal life. Experience of how to assert myself better while still remaining myself, how to perceive myself. Experience of how to read body language in other people and how to manifest it in yourself. I take away a completely new experience that training for managers can also be about movement and not just sitting behind a desk, but actively participating in transformation and learning."
"I take away positive impressions from the workshop and new insights to think about things I hadn't even thought about before."
"I left the workshop relaxed and in a positive mood, I took away a wealth of unforgettable experiences and a lot of interesting & practical information - mostly a moving body, mind and even the diaphragm."ných zážitků a mnoho zajímavých & praktických informací - převážně rozhýbané tělo, mysl a i bránici."
"The fact that it was a training full of movement, dynamics, and practical exercises. Each of us was given enough space to express ourselves during the entire 6 hours of training. I'm excited ;o) I had no idea that training could have such an unusual form."
"What impressed me most was the unconventional approach, thanks to which I finally took something stimulating and useful from the "soft skills" training not only for my work but also for my personal life. The way the material was presented, learning and trying out the basic elements of the Jacques Lecoq Method, another perspective on the perception of movement and relaxation and unwinding. An integral part was also getting to know another culture and ways of perceiving in other countries."
"The instructor was amazing, full of energy and desire to pass on her experience to others. She noticed the details of each of us, she was excellent at recognizing the personalities of the participants. She led the entire training very actively and positively. It was clear that she lives for her work, she passed on that enthusiasm to others. She obviously has a lot of experience in training different groups of people with different backgrounds (artists, actors, managers, etc.)"
"The lecture was impressive, conducted in an interesting and entertaining way."
"Excellent lecturer, great approach and lecture. Despite the initial shyness and shyness, she managed to relax us, let go and get the best out of us. Simply the best."
"You don't expect to come across Art in a remote Central Bohemian village...
The processing of Images of a Living Chronicle was beautiful - it felt like I knew all the inhabitants. The hanging trapeze in Mr. Košátko's barn got me more excited about the new circus than the fart-ass Letní Letná. And the Pool site specific was like a goodbye kiss. We were only in Svídnice for a few hours and we were at home there.
Thank you to the Via Foundation for having the opportunity to be a part of it!
Everyone would want to live in Svídnice :-)"
L. Voláková, VIA Foundation
"I really appreciate how you work with the history and genius loci of the place in your performances. I hope that you will continue to organize similar events in Svídnica and that you will enjoy working on them."

"Thank you for the performance of Ubu in Us. So funny, unexpected classical elements from the movement of the Alarm Clock, suddenly the Katak dance, current and full of classics, touching and hilarious, cheeky and deep, funny and serious, obscene and wonderfully incorrect and tender. I went down on my knees when I saw the outdoor version, which is especially suitable for it. With humility to the demanding performances, thank you again, please play it. Keep it up." (J. Ritterová)
"It was well thought out, they were well coordinated and there is no funnier thing I have seen so far." (V. Mendlová, 12 years old)
"Thanks to the coordination of the actors, I thought both versions (the street version in Radotín and the indoor version in Studio Citadela) were equally good." (V. Mendl)
“I would like to thank you for the beautiful performance of King Ubu. I really liked your sincerity and buffoonish playfulness. You enjoyed the performance and it radiated to us, the audience. I can’t help but compare it to other experiences in the theater, when actors are acting crazy and I feel like I should be laughing, but I’m not laughing. Here it seemed to me that you didn’t care at all whether I laughed, and I laughed a lot and often. I enjoyed every conscious gesture, grin and looked forward to seeing this or that character again. For me, you are a strong cast in a beautiful performance and I will be happy to come see you again.” (A. Jelínková)
“I really liked it, I had a lot of fun, it was great! The full energy of the Lecoq school. Until I realized how few things like that I see here in the Czech Republic.” (A. Polívková)
NATÁLKA
"I wanted to try improvisation in general, but I have a bit of a problem speaking without stuttering. This method by Jacques Lecoq is absolutely ideal."
ELLA
"Mrs. Vendula Burger explains to them that there are no mirrors on stage and that the audience can think differently than us."
ŠTĚPÁN
"I probably enjoyed your first lesson the most with pantomime and the balance, it was great. I also enjoyed the second lesson with the poles, it was difficult because we had to be very creative, but it was fun."
MICHAL
"I really liked creating an imaginary environment. Whenever I saw someone perform an invisible point, I really liked it."
NATÁLKA
"With Vendula, we tested our knowledge of balance itself and learned to control pantomime and move "imaginary" objects."
ANEŽKA
"I discovered a lot of new things and I'm glad for that. It's great how much the human body can be used. But I enjoyed improvising in the house the most. I've never worked with such a large space before."

"The entire seminar felt a bit like a dream. There was so much new, so much interesting, so much to learn. I have to say that I learned an incredible amount in that one week. I'm talking about the movement, puppetry, mental aspects... but also the language! In order for us all to communicate with each other, we spoke exclusively in English. If I ever had the opportunity to repeat everything, I definitely wouldn't hesitate." (M. Němečková)
"We practiced yoga for the first hour of each of our meetings. It worked as a great energizer and at the same time preparation for the upcoming exercises. With the unconventional methods that Simon had mastered at Phillippe Genty Compagnie, we could discover the possibilities of our bodies. He also introduced us to the secrets and basics of puppetry in general, using carried puppets (masks), or specifically with the help of Albert – the bunraku puppet. The animation of this puppet is extremely demanding, and we all met it for the first time in our lives. And the meeting was definitely interesting. In less than a week of attending the seminar, which was led by Simon T. Rann, I grew noticeably in terms of movement, puppetry and even psychology." (K. Prášilová)
"Towards the end, we switched to working with a puppet, a bunraku theatre puppet. It was impossible to manage it with 20 people. The puppet is led by three people at once, it is so certain that the three must be on the same wavelength for the puppet to truly exist. We couldn't do it. Simon always pointed out to us what Albert didn't do or did wrong. He walks like against the wind, his head is too far forward. He levitates. We couldn't do it right away, in fact we still can't do it, which I'm sorry about. Albert fascinated me. I wanted to fall asleep with him and actually I still want to fall asleep with him. He's a beautiful puppet. I would also like to mention that presenting the seminar in front of people, for me, was not just about sharing with others what we did that week. There was a huge power in it, which is amazing in theatre, but you rarely encounter it, you rarely feel it. That energy was everywhere and I don't even know why. I felt it already during the seminar itself, as if it came from other boxes that we are unable to control. From the subconscious. I am enchanted and excited by it to this day. I understand that people who had the opportunity to meet Simon in Prague have already arrived. That sacrificing the theater that was played in Chrudim in the afternoon was actually not a big sacrifice." (M. Kubina)
"Only at the end of the week at the seminar presentation did I see what things can be created and how little is enough. Some other time I would like to meet this seminar again, but for a longer period. Otherwise, seminar A remains the best I have ever had in Chrudim, and Simon became the best lecturer I have ever had in a week." (E. Valášková)
"For me, the experience is priceless. During the creative activities within Ubu, we had enough fun, I enjoyed it and I was very enriched. It was also a new and inspiring experience for me in terms of physical activities. Working with a neutral mask, inanimate material (paper), the elements, or perhaps a lesson with Kuba and Eliška was very interesting and new for me. In addition, I regularly catch myself hissing or making an ohm, even in public spaces. I hope that this is not a disorder, but rather honest training of my vocal organs (diaphragm, vocal cords and who knows what else)." (M.Š.)
"Budilova Theatre School has moved me forward artistically and today I am studying at a school in Paris." (A.J.)
"Budilova Theatre School gives me energy, it has helped me in my teaching activities and it continues to be my hobby." (E.Ř.)
"Budilova Theatre School awakened my passion for pantomime and showed me how to write poetry with my body. Budilka gave me an artistic direction and now I study mime theatre." (K.V.)
"A theatre school that gives me space to be myself. They don't judge me, I can find my own ways to artistic expression. I always leave tired and charged at the same time. During the weekend seminars, I mainly encountered movement approaches to theatre and acting - the Jacques Lecoq method under the guidance of Vendula Burger, Kathak dance and dance training from Veronika Vaculíková."
A.J. (Summer week-long workshop, Intensive study, accepted at École internationale de théâtre Jacques Lecoq)
"Our master Vendulka Burger brings J. Lecoq's method to the present. She teaches us the essence of theatre through the naturalness of artistic movement. I like that I can build dramatization on a new solid foundation. "The body as a pedestal for words""
K.V. (Summer week-long workshop, Intensive study, accepted at HAMU)
"Creative, inspiring, stimulating, refreshing, going to the roots of creation, complexity, enthusiasm, collaboration, sincerity, humility and honesty, poetic basis, humor, great lecturers."
J.R. (Open Training Space, Summer Week-long Workshop, Intensive Study)
"I attended the Roots of Creation week-long workshop and I must say that it far exceeded my expectations. From the style and diversity of the teaching, the inspiring professionals, the level of professionalism, to the amazing atmosphere. I highly recommend it!"
N.R. (Summer week-long workshop)
"The JL method opens the door to FREEDOM in acting. I don't have to deal with material – decorations, sets, props. Everything can be played. With the body.
And that's what I enjoy. I don't enjoy making and thinking and transporting things."
K.U. (Open Training Space)
"This is something I drive 60 km every week, even on a workday when we are all in a hurry.
Every time during the lesson I enjoy a lot of activities, improvisations, I stretch my body and find out how to use it when playing theatre.
Without always realizing it right away, the individual activities from these lessons then accompany me for whole days – at work, in sports, while simply watching others, whose characters I then try to perform in pantomime. I find that even without words and without props, an imaginary (or real?) world can be created."

"The Budilka is a guarantee of quality."
K.B. (accepted at ALD DAMU, directing)
"If you don't want to drown in the disgust and pathos of useless things, come to Budilka! If you want to experience something, come to Budilka! If you want to see quality and professional work, come to Budilka immediately!"
A.B. (accepted at JAMU, student of theatre studies)
"Go for it! You will learn a lot of new things, gain a lot of experience, learn to overcome your limits." B.J. (accepted at HAMU)
"If you really want to learn something, go for it. But go for it fully, knowing that creation hurts. It hurts a lot, but in the end there is self-knowledge and the next level." L.J. (accepted at HAMU)
"Even if you're not sure where you're headed, don't know if you want to act, or what to do, Budilka will enrich you in every way, broaden your horizons. You might feel uncomfortable sometimes, but once you get over it, it'll feel damn good. If you're curious, you won't find out until you try." O.D. (entrepreneur, amateur theater)
"I was involved in theatre even before I started going to weekend workshops at Budilka, but a completely different theatre, based on poetry and words. And I must say that it was the Jacques Lecoq method taught at Budilka that opened the door to the world of movement theatre for me. I began to be fascinated by what the body is capable of expressing. That would probably be a longer story. A year later I got into the non-verbal theatre department at HAMU and now I have successfully completed my studies and am continuing my master's studies. However, the main thing I wanted to write is that I am actually very grateful for all the initial and introductory impulses into the world of movement theatre, which I continue to devote myself to (whether it is physical theatre, pantomime, clownery and most of all now the new circus). Of course, every thing always has its less positive sides, but with time, we often only remember the good and beneficial. And that is also what happens in my case, when I look back on when I also studied at Budilka. So Budilka, Vendula, Hanko, Robert, thank you very much!"
V.S. (former student)
"I believe in Budilka. It has a good direction and gives people a lot of power. It leads to honesty and honest craftsmanship.
The future of this school depends only on people who are willing to go this way and leave the nice, effective and well-lit courses. Life is hard work, theater is hard work, studying is hard work. But if one has to work somewhere, then at Budil!
Theater is not life, but it can tell us a lot about life. Studying at Budil's theater school told me a lot about myself.
In my opinion, you can study Budilka all the time, because it constantly reveals additional layers and garbage that prevent your work from being 100% pure and true. Nobody tells you how to do it there. You just do it, the best you can at that moment, and it will show you where your dog is buried.
I think the concept of the studio is quite well thought out, and so is the the composition of the teaching/lecturing staff. They all come from the same source, but approach the work from different sides. They harmonize and complement each other. It will help you a lot if you can accept their assessment and think about it regardless of whether you agree with it or if it affects you. If you figure out what led them to the words you heard, you have won. At least for that moment, for that certain creative period. Budilka teachers are usually ruthlessly precise."
